The 5th annual Kenneth Beauchamp (the founder of ATTC) tournament was held last Saturday and ATTC showed up with around half of the participants coming from our club!
It's great to see all of the familiar names and new ones join the roster of tournament players at ATTC.

Hats off to ATTC's latest 2k initiate Luke Kempen who was spectacular this tournament; defeating two of the best pips players in the club, Shreyas and Kai and beating Lia from Houston who has been a nightmare matchup for many ATTC members. I think everyone at the club knew this rating jump from Luke was inevitable, as his consistent mid-distance top-spin game is incredibly difficult to deal with. Since arriving in Austin less than a year ago from Australia, Luke has been a valuable regular at the club. And he's a pro member! Not saying similar results are guaranteed, but having extended hour access surely played a part in Luke's results (sign up now!)
Some other notable results were Aditya's 79 point jump upwards (perhaps the next in line for the 2k club?) And amazing showings from Arnav and Sid, who both beat players ranked higher than them as well. ATTC had so many PRs this tournament that I can't shout out them all. But I do want to shout out 3 new tournament players from ATTC, congratulations to these three for starting their journeys as tournament players:

As for Tournament Winners, we had an incredible showing with ATTC basically sweeping the U1900 and U2100 Divisions. Thank you to all of the participants and to the volunteer staff for setting up this event. Quick reminder that ATTC has another tournament happening in less than a month on 8/31. Keep on ponging!
