2024 U.S. Nationals and SATTC Summer Open - ATTC HUGE RESULTS

The week of July 3rd to 7th, I'm getting text after text from Jeff Nguyen who's at the USATT 2024 Nationals. He says he beat a 2000. Next day I get another text that he beat a 2100. The day after that, he texts that he beat a 2200. On the final day of the tournament. He's in the finals of the U2000 category against Theo Stephens from OKC who had previously beaten him in the Austin Spring Tournament. The final score? Fifth game decider with Jeff winning 13-11. It's been an incredible journey watching Jeff train his butt off this last year. I think the entire Austin Table Tennis Club has a hand in all of our wins as we should see everyone in the club as practice partners for these national level events.

Another enormous result here is Rony Joy not only hitting his personal best, but breaking 2000 for the first time!! He beat a 2100 and a 2200 to end with a rating of 2065 at the end. Everyone at the club knows that when Rony is locked in, his service game is absolutely deadly and his consistent top spin game is formidable to deal with. Now the rest of the country knows it too.

Pavlo, our resident long pips block and smasher similarly showed that his style is effective nation-wide, hitting his personal best at 1786. We also had great showings from the ATTC juniors below who continue to make progress. Meanwhile, Head Coach Shahin took home Silver in the Men's Over 30 Singles. Well done to everyone who committed an entire week to the sport we love!

Summer 2024 San Antonio Tournament

Wanted to shout out the amazing results ATTC had the summer SA tournament in this post as well. We had two ATTC Adults hit their PRs in this tournament with Nick Mickowski breaking 1600 and Jiahua Ma breaking 1700. Love to see it as a fellow ATTC adult player! Justin Kim and Clark Kim, the dynamic dad and son duo also did great in this tournament and Justin hit his PR at 1482 AND won the u1500 Category! Congrats to them both!
